You should indicate the highest price in Euros you would be prepared to pay for the object, always keeping in mind that a 23% commission will be added on the hammer price.

Your maximum bid will only be used, if the competition requires it.
If there are not many other bidders for the object, of course, you get it at a lower hammer price or, if there is no competitor at all, at the catalogue price plus 23%.

Limit means starting or reserve price, i.e. no offers below that limit will be accepted before the sale.
